Under Age Weekly Update February 19th 2016

Good afternoon all,

Unfortunately, the torrential rain that fell last week and in particular on Saturday, wreaked havoc with training and matches, and the forecast is for no great improvement for this week-end. For that reason, we have “staggered” training times for the Mini’s this Sunday – please see below. The paddock is flooded and Main Pitch is out of bounds until further notice

Our Under 15’s continued their great run of recent form with a comprehensive victory over Shannon at Coonagh. The Under 14’s still remain unbeaten, and recorded a 22-5 win over Tralee. Well done to the lads on their impeccable behaviour in Tralee – great reports coming back about how they conducted themselves in the “Kingdom” – a credit to their families, our Coaches and the club. Take a bow – Keith, Tony & Ken and all involved, keep up the great work.

Results from last weekend

Under 15 League – Shannon vs Young Munster - Coonagh at 11.00 a.m – Won 24-0

Shadow-Man (tackling aid) - The “shadowman” have arrived..We hope to organise training soon for all. Please make sure the three are shared between all and returned to container after training. These are not toys and please supervise all kids when using them. There are two junior and one large shadowman. Please make sure that the correct sleigh size fits the tackle section.

New locks. Sunday evening new locks will be put on the main gate and astro in Tom Clifford.

Coaches keys for these will be avail from club shop am Sunday..1 set per team. Please take very good care of these keys and locks and ensure that all locks are firmly locked after you have used the facilities at the club. It is very expensive to have to purchase new locks and over twenty separate sets of keys cut.

Jackets for Coaches – we have had a lot of enquiries in relation to the new Coaches jackets which are now being sported by many of our Coaches ( and indeed by some of the younger players). If anyone is interested in ordering one, we will have sample jackets in various sizes at the Club Shop on Sunday morning from 10.00. I attach a few pictures of the jacket for you information.

Dates for your diaries:

Monday 22nd February – Rugby laws workshop – following on from first workshop, an additional workshop is being scheduled at Clanwilliam RFC in Tipperary for those who missed the previous one. This will once again be facilitated by IRB referee, John Lacey.

Tuesday 23rd February – Concussion Workshop - Munster Rugby will host a Concussion Workshop at Garryowen FC at Dooradoyle at 7.pm

Pre-registration is not required for either event – just turn up on the night.

Best of luck to our Senior XV who take on Ballynahinch in the AIL this Saturday at Clifford Park. Our Junior XV are involved in Munster Junior Cup action – they take on Thurles at 2.30 on Sunday in Thurles.
