Under Age Weekly Update October 16th 2015

Hello folks,

Unfortunately, there was no joy for our Under 18 and 16’s at Coonagh last Sunday with both going down to Shannon.

Well done to the Under 14’s who played very well in a training game at Annacotty vs UL Bohs.

A relatively quiet weekend on the playing front with just our Under 16’s in competitive league action, and our Under 12’s in Blitz action at Estuary.

You are invited to join us for the World Cup Quarter Final in Tom Clifford Park this Sunday from 12am and the bar will be open giving members and friends the opportunity to watch the game. Help us to cheer the boys home for hopefully the first time ever we reach a Semi Final. Finger food will be provided on the day and it promises to be a historic day for Irish Rugby, sadly without Paul but I’m sure Keith will carry the club colours proudly and hopefully cross the line for a try or two.

Results from last weekend:

Under 18 Pan Munster – Shannon vs Young Munster -Coonagh at 11.30 –lost 7-17

Under 16 Pan Munster – Richmond/St Mary’s/Shannon – venue TBC at 12.30 – lost 14-17

Under 14 training match – UL Bohs vs Young Munster – comfortable win for us.

Fixtures for this weekend; (Sunday 18th)

Under 12 Blitz at Estuary – kick off at 11.00a.m.

Under 16 Pan Munster – Young Munster vs Thurles – Clifford Park at 11.00

Club Registrations – could we please ask all coaches/managers to follow up for any outstanding club registrations – deadline was Sunday 4th October. Please collect all registration forms and fees and hand in to club shop or give to a committee member as soon as possible.

IRFU/ Club Raffle – As advised at previous meetings, we will not be holding our Under Age raffle to coincide with our Open Day, but will instead focus our energies on the IFRU Monster draw. All funds collected will remain within the club, and as this will be one of our main fund raising activities, we would urge you to give this fund raiser your full support. Tickets are priced at €10.00 each, with real quality prizes, including trips to South Africa.

Benefit night - Jack & Sarah Corbett - In conjunction with the friends of David and Tracey Lynch, we will be assisting with a couple of fundraising events over the next few weeks, starting with a “Benefit Night” at our clubhouse on Friday 16th October. We will have live music on the night, with loads of spot prizes to be won. The evening kicks off with a Table Quiz at 8pm, followed by live music from 10 til late.

Come on, Ireland!!!

Yours in rugby,

Ciaran O’Callaghan
