The season is well and truly up and running now, with the Under 15 league kicking off last Sunday, with our lads recording a comprehensive win over a plucky Thomond side, and the Under 14 league and Under 16 Pan Munster competitions commencing this week. Best of luck to all teams in action this Sunday!

Results from last week:

Under 15 League – Young Munster 29 Thomond 0.

Under 13 Friendly – We played Shannon as part of our preparations for the up-coming league, and lost narrowly by one score. Good performance from everybody, with Sean O’Farrell, Adam Cummings, Gerard Quaid, Scott Sheehan and Reese Kelly in particular catching the eye.

Club Registration – deadline for completed registrations is Sunday 4th October. Would Coaches/Managers please retain any registration forms and cash for the time being, and hand over all completed forms and money to our Treasurer as soon as you have all collected. Thanks for your co-operation on this.

Player Transfers – Deadline for completed transfer forms (for players joining us from other clubs) is 30th September. If you have any outstanding, please ensure that you give them to Glen Blake before that date.

Weekly up-dates – we would request that one representative from each age group forward a brief report of activities from every Sunday to myself by close of business on Monday. Again, thanks for your co-operation.

We have some colour posters in Club shop, which could be distributed at schools to recruit new players.

Finally, best of luck to our Senior team who host Garryowen at Clifford Park tonight at 7.30. a momentous night for the club, as the floodlights will be “officially” turned on for the match, so we would welcome your support – it promises to be a great night, mighty craic and banter with our Garryowen neighbours, our Under 16’s will be operating a Barbeque, bar will be open, and a cracking match into the bargain! Sure why would you stay at home to watch boring old England strangle the life out of Fiji….see you later!!

Yours in rugby,

Ciaran O’Callaghan
