President’s Welcome Season 2024/25
It is my great honour to be elected as President of Young Munster RFC for this season 2024/25.
I follow in the footsteps of my dad Olly Brown who served as President of this great club for three years during the 1960’s.
Young Munster was founded in 1895 (129 years ago) and its ability to grow and thrive has been driven by its never wavering core philosophies of Community Spirit, Open Door Policy, Pride in the Jersey and 100% Commitment both on and off the pitch. Our sense of togetherness is built on a long standing vibrant Underage Division catering for 200 boys and girls whose spirit is infectious and has helped build a unique culture in this great Club.
These qualities have resulted in many successes over the years across all age grades and senior divisions. As we continue to play our Rugby in Division 1A of the AIL, a highly competitive league which we last won in 1993, we remain very focussed on attaining that honour again as we commence this season.
I want to wish all our coaches (Underage & Adult) every success and I want to extend best wishes to Head Coach Ger Slattery, 1st Team Captain Alan Kennedy and acknowledge the huge effort by all players/coaches/management in all our teams to be” the best that they can be” every occasion they wear the “Black & Amber”.
A massive Thank You to all our Volunteers, Coaches, Officers, Members, Supporters and finally our Sponsors who together contribute hugely to the ongoing success of the Club. It would be remiss of me not to mention our lead sponsor Pat Burke (PBC Ltd) for their long standing and continuing support.
Finally, “Cead Mile Failte” to all our visiting Teams, Officials, Supporters & Referees…I know you will all enjoy the unique Match Day experience of Tom Clifford Park.
